On my way back from a meeting in Mildenhall (The West Suffolk Waste and Street Scene Services Joint Committee - quite a mouthful) I took the opportunity today to call in at West Stow to see the brand new building that will be used as a gallery and study facility.
It is an impressive high tech structure, able to house objects never before seen by the public. For example, did you know that there is a large collection of bicycles, most of which have not been on display before? I'm told that the gallery section of the building will be open around April, but for now staff are working hard to get everything ready. The long-term result will be greater access to St Edmundsbury's rich heritage and culture.
