"Council reacts promptly"


What an unusual headline - not because what it's reporting is unusual, but because this sort of thing just doesn't usually make good news.
On 9th July just before 5.30 pm there was yet another collision of a vehicle into a Sparhawk Street house. You can see my report and the letter I wrote the following morning below.

Exactly two weeks later (Thursday 24th) four new bollards were erected to extend the protection already available. No more than four could be added as the pavement gets narrower there, but you can see in my picture that the damage caused on 9th (which could have been to a pedestrian) would have been avoided.

So well done St Edmundsbury. I hope that the SLOW DOWN signs on the road will also be painted soon.
