I have deleted a post which contained one of only three responses I have had from the public about council tax, namely that concerned with single mothers. I have discovered by chance that this may have offended some of my readers, for which I apologise. By posting this extreme view I hope no one thinks I was agreeing with it. Rather, I was exposing it to the scrutiny of those who (two did) I knew would counter it.
Some may think my views extreme, but I am a human being. One of my own daughters was a single mum and put herself through a postgraduate teacher training whilst caring brilliantly for her son.
