Next, please...

This morning's surgery was the busiest yet. Cllr Richard Rout and I, who have been holding these drop-in sessions on the first Saturday of every month for about two years, were busy from 10-11.45 non-stop. Not only did we have people queuing, but one poor regular frrom Out Westgate gave up waiting.

Issues included a neigbour's proposed extension blocking light, the potentially dangerous traffic affecting houses at the top eastern side of Southgate Street, the need for signage to the car park nearest the Theatre Royal, poor sweeping of leaves by drains in Shillitoe Close and vandals moving the Kings Road plastic barriers.

As ever, many thanks to Sally and all at the library for letting us use the stairwell area - competing today with a sale of books and DVDs. No contest?

Did the lady in the picture give you permission to put her on your blog?

Never mind what BG says, has Richard Rout given you permission to publish a picture of him with his tie tucked into his trousers??!

As I helped her to defeat a planning application BG (and still am with a revised application) I am sure she would not mind.

I'm more worried about Headless's point. This may be the end of political co-operation as we know it.

Ah Headless. that could explain why we dont see Richard out and about very often ?
He has no blog site to defend his actions, No doubt its a Trotter and Deane shirt and tie, and the Gov will have a word about his appearance in Public.

Bury Boy, perhaps you're not looking? I'm "out and about" walking my dog through the town centre 2 - 3 times a day, shopping every Saturday and at every council meeting (town and borough). I have no blog because a) i work and don't have the time and b) i don't really like the petty bickering that tends to ensue between councillors. Yes it it's a Trotter & Deane shirt and tie and yes it's not a particularly flattering photo...I think I'm leaning forward and my tie doubled over.

Richard - when this idea first came up I went to the original picture (which I think is good of both of us - genuinely in action as we are on a monthly basis) and enlarged it almost forensically to see if your theory is right.

Inconclusive I'm afraid, but I have NEVER known you with your tie tucked in - and who cares? Bury boy (AKA Colin) hasn't posted any pictures for us to smirk at or see if he buys Bury like you do.

Perhaps I should lurk in Southgate Street more...?
