Happy Birthday

Yesterday was Mrs F's XXrd birthday. We're not very good at birthdays and Christmas for each other, and make little fuss (I make the least!); but we do try and have a nice time on the day. Imagine Mrs F's reaction then when I announced I had meetings from 3pm to 7pm. She was not amused.
Here we are loaded with drinks at a restaurant in Bury awaiting our first course. Any idea where?

Chez what ever, where cafe uno and ridleys used to be by any chance.

I thought I saw Mrs F out on her own in southgate street, off to meet her Knight. what was it like and do you have more photos, FM keeps dropping hints.
Or was it Zen noddle bar.

Well done BB and right on all counts, as long as you mean as in shining armour rather than of St Edmund.

Service is very good, but prices seem more than under previous regime. The Mon-Fri mixed price menu (which you may have to ask for!) is worth going for. Drinks as ever hike up l'addition.

No more photos other than the rest of the one I've included. Do you really want to see our faces?

Wow, those are some birthday drinks. Did you make it home in one piece??
Happy Birthday Mrs F.

Two of the glasses have water in. The rest are an aperitif each and a shared bottle of red wine. We walked there and back home past Florrie's house quite steadily (resisting the temptation to play knock down ginger on Florrie).

Oh I see, thought they were all for the birthday girl!!

Happy birthday Mrs F...glad to see that Mr F made an appropriate effort. If you like Chez Gerard, the nicest one I've ever visited is on the piazza in Covent Garden, where you can sit on the balcony overlooking the Opera House.

What is knock down ginger? Is it the equivalent of ring the bell and run away that we used to play as kids? ie knock on the window and see who can make the doggie bark most?
I just passed SID outside my workplace. I got a nice smiley face and 29mph. Is this the only one in the county? Do I hijack it on my way home? It looked like there were two little yellow cars with it, but I can't be sure as I was keeping my eyes on the road of course.

FM, you and BB are always right. I of course do not know what knock-down-ginger is from any personal experience, you understand...(coughs quietly). I wonder where the expression comes from?

We shall all have to be patient for SID. But then that's a virtue shared by most of your neighbours.

Knock Down Ginger is an arrestable offence. There is also the possibility that the householder may catch the offender and punch their lights out - also an arrestable offence. Soon, both offenders could be held at the new 'Slammer' which was granted planning consent yesterday (according to the twin blog I have just been reading).

Happy birthday to Mrs F!

And Mr F has just been blog tagged! 8 random facts about yourself, then choose some victims to tag :-)

Steady on Paul. FM is often right but not always, as we know "always being right" is a male trait. its the way of the world is it not. LOL

Not far for them to take me then David!

BB - (in a whisper) I agree

Ruby - I take it as an honour, but Mrs F just said rather aggessively: "who says you've go to?"
