What is it about Wednesdays?

No, the picture above has nothing to do with the title of this short post but I was fed up with the frog.

In my former blog I asked if anyone knew why I often find Wednesdays particularly frantic. Unusual things happen. People phone me who haven't done for a long time or who I don't expect to. There are more crises. Why?

Previously a commenter suggested it was because it was market day, but that doesn't affect me sitting in my study. When I was on the town council their Wednesday meetings might have added a frisson to the day which could have distracted me - talking of which tonight should be interesting. But I left it in 2005, so its not that.

Well?????

It's Davina McCall. I don't like the description. Respect!

There's definitely something about Wednesday's in Bury St Edmunds. One of the busiest days at the BFP I do believe, and lots of work going on on the front pages - and the headline for the week which so very often manages to tap into the "word on the street" reflecting it back at the people. Then whether you go to the market or not, it's there, and its presence effects everything. There's something in the air in Bury on a Wednesday.

Is that photo a caption competition?

The only connection to Davina McCall & Bury St Edmunds that I have been able to find is that she is the Patron of Focus12, the alcohol treatment centre in Risbygate St. Glad to say that's news to me!

Here's the Inside Out article that I've found (Ruby's already getting used to my inner librarian)

Nice one 21stCM. I had forgotten that.

The picture was taken at Madame Tussauds (or should there be an apostrophe Ruby?) on the occasion of Moys'es Hall Museum receiving a national award last year.

There is no apostrophe in Madame Tussauds - and there is no 's' on the end of Tesco.

Madame Tussaud's is named after Madame Tussaud.

I'm sure it was. However, the name of the organisation is Madame Tussards. Don't blame me or even Marie Tussard (1761-1850) but somehow, somewhere, the rules of English grammar were 'amended'.
