Hunters licence result

On Wednesday the first hearing under the new Special Licensing Policy took place. The result was approval, but only on condition that the Guildhall entrance could not be used, and only the back hall (fronting St Andrews Street) could be used for licensable activities.

Although some objectors were disappointed that the licensing hours remained rather long (especially if exploited by someone less considerate than the applicant) I believe this is a victory for the SPA. It has protected residents within the Area whilst not preventing the premises to be licensed.

Surely a win-win?
