The town is buzzing with activity in preparation for tomorrow, and we know the police will be supported by many colleagues from around the county. But other people are working hard in the background too.
For example, the borough council is immediately responsible for all the road closures and erection of hundreds of barriers. Yesterday I met one of our officers in the Great Churchyard who thought he'd be there well into the night getting things sorted out. I thanked him profusely, but realise that there must be many other council workers who have been occupied with these arrangements for some time - while still getting on with the day job.
